At Buonissimo

We aim to produce a new menu for each season providing fresh, modern Italian cuisine with a strong Mediterranean flair using organic and free-range produce wherever possible.
Children are most welcome. We offer dishes marked with a smiling face at half price for a child’s portion. Vegetarian dishes are marked with a V. Some dishes may contain nuts.
If you have a gluten intolerance, we can always create some dishes which are gluten free. Please speak to us for further details.

LE BRUSCHETTE

Pane rustico con aglio al forno (V) £3.95
Crusty rustic bread, served with a whole bulb of slowly baked fresh garlic. A must for garlic lovers!

Bruschetta con asparagi e salmone £3.95
Toasted ciabatta bread topped with an asparagus mousse and smoked salmon.

Bruschetta con feta e olive (V) £3.95
Toasted ciabatta bread with feta cheese, olives and tomato.

Misto di bruschette alla Buonissimo £6.95
A selection of the above breads, for two to share.

An assorted platter of hot and cold fish, to include home-made crab cakes, king prawns, octopus carpaccio and smoked salmon.

Spiedini di agnello al rosmarino £5.95
Grilled skewers of minced lamb, served on a Greek style salad. Drizzled with a herb dressing.

Bresaola mozzarella di bufala e pomodoro £5.95
A platter of marinated bresaola (Italian style cured beef), buffalo mozzarella and plum tomatoes, drizzled with olive oil. Served with toasted ciabatta bread.

Zuppa fatta in casa (V) £4.35
Freshly made soup of the day, served with warm rustic bread.

Panzanella Toscana (V)£4.50
A Tuscan style salad popular in the summer. Tomatoes, basil, garlic, olives and cucumber combined with generous chunks of ciabatta bread soaked in the salad juices.

PASTA E RISOTTO

Fagottini all’aragosta e crostacei £6.95 starter £12.50 main
Artisan filled pasta with lobster and mixed shellfish. Cooked in a cream, tomato and tarragon sauce. Traditionally Italians do not serve cheese on a fish pasta - but if you like it, feel free to ask!

Spaghetti amatriciana £5.25 starter £9.95 main
Spaghetti in a rustic tomato sauce with a hint of chilli, guanciale (cured pork cheek) and red onion. Topped with pecorino cheese.

Penne con funghi e dolcelatte (V) £5.25 starter £9.95 main
Penne tossed in a creamy mushroom and dolcelatte sauce. Topped with rocket, pecorino and truffle oil.

Sedanini mascarpone mortadella e pistacchio £5.25 starter £9.95 main
Pasta tubes in a mascarpone and tomato sauce with mortadella (cured pork) and peas, sprinkled with pistachio nuts and pecorino cheese.

Risotto al nero di seppia £6.25 starter £11.50 main
A black seafood risotto with swordfish, fresh salmon and king prawns. Traditionally Italians do not serve cheese on a fish pasta - but if you like it, feel free to ask!

Pollo ripieno con pecorino Siciliano e asparagi £12.50
Free range chicken breast filled with spicy Sicilian pecorino cheese and asparagus, served in a rustic tomato sauce. Accompanied with roast potatoes, baby carrots and romanesco.

Branzino con salsa di agrumi £14.95
Sea bass fillets in a citrus, white wine and basil sauce. Served with sauteed potatoes, spinach and romanesco.

Filetto alla griglia con olio di tartufo £19.50
Prime grilled fillet steak on a bed of sauteed mushrooms topped with rocket, pecorino shavings and truffle oil. Served with roast potatoes, baby carrots and spinach.If you prefer you can have the steak in a green peppercorn and red wine sauce.

Vitello valdostana £14.95
Escallope of English veal coated in breadcrumbs, topped with Parma ham, tomato and mozzarella. Served with caponata, spinach and sauteed potatoes.

Polpette di melanzane con anelletti V£9.95
Home-made aubergine cakes on a bed of oven baked anelletti pasta in an aromatic tomato sauce, finished with pecorino cheese.

Salmone avvolto con prosciutto e salsa verde £13.95
Oven baked salmon wrapped in Parma ham, filled with salsa verde, on a bed of caponata. Served with sauteed potatoes and romanesco.

A platter of scallops, king prawns, swordfish loin and salmon fillet, drizzled with salmoriglio dressing. Served with a crisp salad, roast potatoes and caponata.

A delicious Italian chocolate cake with a light creamy and zabaglione filling. Served with a jug of fresh cream.

A refreshing liquid lemon sorbet, served in a flute glass with fresh strawberries and mint.

A selection of six different mini Italian desserts. The platter includes authentic Sicilian cannolo, sfogliatina Napoletana and a few others to keep you guessing - perfect to share.
