MENU D’ESTATE

(June – October 2018)

At Buonissimo 

We aim to produce a new menu for each season providing fresh, modern Italian cuisine with a strong Mediterranean flair using organic and free-range produce wherever possible. Children are most welcome. We offer dishes marked with a smiling face at half price for a child’s portion  . Vegetarian dishes are marked with a V. Some dishes may contain nuts.

Allergies

Some of our dishes may contain nuts.We have gluten-free pasta available on request. Many of our menu dishes can be amended for people with allergies. Please inform your waiter if you have any allergies or intolerances and we will try our very best to create a dish to your specific requirements. We also have a list of allergens contained in our menu dishes which is available on request. We take allergies very seriously, and if informed we will do all we can to ensure you have a wonderful and safe dining experience.

LE BRUSCHETTE

Pane Rustico con Aglio al Forno  V   £3.95
Crusty rustic bread, served with a whole bulb of slowly baked fresh garlic.  A must for garlic lovers!

Bruschetta con Taleggio e N’duja   £3.95
Toasted artisan bread topped with tomato sauce, taleggio cheese and spicy N’duja (soft, spicy salami).
V for our vegetarian guests we can omit the N’duja

Bruschetta con Piselli e Gamberetti Marinati   £3.95
Toasted artisan bread topped with a pea purée, mint and chilli, finished with marinated prawns.
V for our vegetarian guests we can replace the prawns with grilled vegetables

Misto di Bruschette alla Buonissimo  £7.95
A selection of the above breads, for two to share.
V  A vegetarian option is available on request, please ask.

STARTERS

Panzanella Toscana V  £4.95
A Tuscan style salad, popular in the summer – tomatoes, basil, garlic, olives and cucumber combined with artisan bread soaked in the salad juices.

Zuppa Fatta in Casa   V     £4.50
Freshly made soup of the day, served with warm rustic bread.

Polpette di Granchio e Gamberoni £7.95
Homemade crab cake topped with a breaded king prawn. Served with a dressed salad and aioli dip.

Involtini di Prosciutto con Scamorza Funghi e Olio di Tartufo   £6.95
Grilled smoked scamorza cheese wrapped with Parma ham. Served with rocket and drizzled with truffle oil.

Carpaccio di Polipo con Patate e Fagiolini £7.95
Carpaccio of octopus. Served with a chilled garlic potato and green bean salad, drizzled with homemade basil pesto.

PASTA E RISOTTO

Linguine al Nero di Seppia £6.95 starter  £13.95 main   
Linguine with black cuttlefish ink, garlic, fennel seeds and chilli. Tossed with swordfish, king prawns and baby spinach. (We can omit the cuttlefish ink if you would prefer.)
Traditionally Italians do not serve cheese on fish pasta- but if you like it please ask!

Gemelli con Aglio al Forno e Funghi V £5.25 starter  £9.95 main   Pasta twists with roast garlic, chilli and oyster mushrooms. Tossed in a cream and pecorino sauce.

Risotto Primavera V   £5.25 starter  £9.95 main 
Risotto with dolcelatte and green vegetables. Finished with rocket and pecorino cheese.

Triangoli con Pesce Spada £6.95 starter  £13.95 main  
Handmade artisan filled pasta with swordfish, tossed with prawns, courgette, chilli, garlic and olive oil. Finished with rocket leaves.

Rigatoni con Coda di Manzo  £6.95 starter  £13.95 main   
Pasta tubes tossed in a rich ox-tail and tomato ragú. Topped with pecorino shavings.

MAINS

Filetto ai Funghi e Vino Rosso   £22.95
Grilled prime fillet steak cooked with oyster mushrooms in a rich red wine sauce, with a touch of cream. Served with potato wedges, carrots and peas.
If you prefer you can have the fillet plain grilled with rocket and truffle oil – just ask.

Pollo alla Griglia con Erbe Aromatiche  £12.95
Free range chicken breast marinated in fresh herbs and char-grilled.
Served with potato wedges, peas and a fresh salad with feta cheese, tomato and cucumber.

Merluzzo al Forno con Couscous  £14.50
Roast cod loin on a bed of vegetable couscous, drizzled with red pepper coulis and served with tarragon infused green beans.

Arrosto di Maiale con Verdure  £6.50 starter  £14.50 main
Out-door reared pork belly, cooked with star anise, chilli and red wine. Served with garlic buttered potatoes and carrots. A must for those with a healthy appetite!

Orata al Vino Bianco con Limone Finocchio e Erbe  £15.95
Grilled fillets of fresh sea bream in a white wine and lemon sauce with fennel and fresh herbs. Served with a crisp salad, garlic buttered potatoes and tarragon infused green beans.

Pesce Spada alla Messinese £15.95
Pan seared swordfish loin with fresh tomato, herbs and capers. Topped with rocket leaves and drizzled with chilli olive oil. Served with potato wedges, tarragon infused green beans and peas.

Rotelle al Forno con Spinaci e Ricotta V   £10.50
Oven baked pasta wheels filled with spinach and ricotta in a luxurious cream and pecorino sauce. Finished with toasted pine kernels and pecorino shavings.
