MENU D’ESTATE

(July – October 2019)

At Buonissimo 

We aim to produce a new menu for each season providing fresh, modern Italian cuisine with a strong Mediterranean flair using organic and free-range produce wherever possible. Children are most welcome. We offer dishes marked with a smiling face at half price for a child’s portion  . Vegetarian dishes are marked with a V. Some dishes may contain nuts.

Allergies

Some of our dishes may contain nuts.We have gluten-free pasta available on request. Many of our menu dishes can be amended for people with allergies. Please inform your waiter if you have any allergies or intolerances and we will try our very best to create a dish to your specific requirements. We also have a list of allergens contained in our menu dishes which is available on request. We take allergies very seriously, and if informed we will do all we can to ensure you have a wonderful and safe dining experience.

Pane Rustico con Aglio al Forno  V   £3.95
Crusty rustic bread, served with a whole bulb of slowly baked fresh garlic.  A must for garlic lovers!

Bruschetta con Cavolfiore e Taleggio V   £3.95
Toasted artisan bread topped with cauliflower purée,
sun dried tomatoes and taleggio cheese.

Bruschetta con Avocado e Salmone Affumicato   £3.95
Toasted artisan bread topped with avocado mousse
and smoked salmon.

Misto di Bruschette alla Buonissimo  £7.95
A selection of the above breads, for two to share.
V  A vegetarian option is available on request, please ask.

STARTERS

Zuppa Fatta in Casa   V     £4.50
Freshly made soup of the day, served with warm rustic bread.

Panzanella Toscana V  £4.95
A Tuscan style salad, popular in the summer – tomatoes, basil, garlic, olives and cucumber combined with artisan bread soaked in the salad juices.

Antipasto Casareccio £6.95 starter  £13.95 main
A selection of cured Italian meat, served with caponata,
pecorino cheese and a crostino of bread topped with pesto.

Arancini con Salsiccia e Taleggio   £6.95
Home-made arancini (Sicilian street food speciality of deep fried rice balls) filled with an Italian sausage ragù and taleggio cheese centre. Served with a spicy tomato sauce.

Spiedini di Pesce £7.95
Grilled fish skewer with king prawn, swordfish and salmon. Drizzled with a roast red pepper coulis.

PASTA E RISOTTO

Conchiglie N`duja e Ricotta £6.25 starter  £12.95 main   
A Calabrian speciality of pasta shells tossed with melted N`duja (soft fiery Calabrian salami) and fresh ricotta cheese. Topped with pecorino cheese. V – for our vegetarian guests we can omit the N`duja and replace with pesto.

Spaghetti con Sardine Gamberoni e Pangrattato £6.95 starter  £13.95 main
Spaghetti with sardines, king prawns, olives and sun-dried tomatoes. Tossed in chilli, garlic, olive oil and toasted bread crumbs. Traditionally Italians do not serve cheese on fish pasta –
but if you would like it please ask!

Rigatoni Melenzane e Pomodoro V   £6.95 starter  £12.95 main 
Pasta tubes tossed with fresh tomato, basil and aubergine. Finished with vegetarian parmesan.

Girasoli al Branzino £6.95 starter  £13.95 main  
Handmade artisan filled pasta with sea bass and ricotta.
Tossed in a homemade pesto and baby spinach leaves.
Finished with toasted pine kernels. Traditionally Italians do not serve cheese on fish pasta – but if you would like it please ask!

Risotto con Carciofi Asparagi e Scamorza V  £6.25 starter  £12.95 main   
Arborio rice cooked al dente with artichoke, asparagus and scamorza cheese. Topped with rocket and vegetarian parmesan shavings.

MAINS

Duetto di Agnello e Maiale   £17.95
A duo of pork belly and grilled lamb cutlets, served in a red wine and roast vegetable sauce. Accompanied with sweet potato mash and peas.

Pesce Spada con Mousse di Melanzane £16.50
Grilled swordfish topped with an aubergine mousse. Served with garlic new potatoes, salad and zucchine fritte (fried courgette).

Pollo con Scamorza e Pomodoro  £13.50
Free range chicken breast in a rustic tomato sauce. Topped with asparagus and melted scamorza cheese. Served with diced herb potatoes, carrots and spinach.

Salmone Pesto e Pinol  £15.95
Fresh salmon fillet poached in a white wine, pesto
and cream sauce. Served with garlic new potatoes,
peas and spinach.

Filetto alla Birra Moretti £22.95
Grilled prime fillet steak in a crème fraiche, onion, bay leaves and Moretti beer sauce. Served with diced herb potatoes, peas and carrots.
If you prefer you can have the fillet plain grilled, just ask!.

Sgombro Limone e Capperi £14.95
Grilled fresh mackerel fillets with fennel and capers in a lemon and white wine sauce. Served with a crisp salad, garlic new potatoes and spinach.

Sfogliatina con Caponata V   £10.95
Puff pastry with caponata vegetables and melted taleggio cheese. Served with a crisp salad and fried zucchine.
