MENU D’ESTATE

(June – October 2017)

At Buonissimo 

We aim to produce a new menu for each season providing fresh, modern Italian cuisine with a strong Mediterranean flair using organic and free-range produce wherever possible. Children are most welcome. We offer dishes marked with a smiling face at half price for a child’s portion  . Vegetarian dishes are marked with a V. Some dishes may contain nuts.

Allergies

Some of our dishes may contain nuts.We have gluten-free pasta available on request. Many of our menu dishes can be amended for people with allergies. Please inform your waiter if you have any allergies or intolerances and we will try our very best to create a dish to your specific requirements. We also have a list of allergens contained in our menu dishes which is available on request. We take allergies very seriously, and if informed we will do all we can to ensure you have a wonderful and safe dining experience.

LE BRUSCHETTE

Pane Rustico con Aglio al Forno  V   £3.95
Crusty rustic bread, served with a whole bulb of slowly baked fresh garlic.  A must for garlic lovers!

Bruschetta Con N’duja e Mascarpone  £3.95
Toasted artisan bread topped with a spicy tomato and N’duja (hot spreadable Calabrian salami), finished with creamy mascarpone cheese.
V for our vegetarian guests we can omit the N’duja

Bruschetta con Carciofi e Salmone Affumicato   £3.95
Toasted artisan bread topped with artichoke mousse and smoked salmon. V for our vegetarian guests we can omit the salmon and replace with grilled vegetables.

Misto di Bruschette alla Buonissimo  £7.95
A selection of the above breads, for two to share.

STARTERS

Spiedini d’Agnello e Chorizo   £6.95 starter  £13.95main served with potato wedges and vegetables
Char-grilled marinated lamb and chorizo skewers, served on a bed salad leaves and drizzled with a red pepper coulis.

Zuppa Fatta in Casa   V     £4.50
Freshly made soup of the day, served with warm rustic bread.

Panzanella Toscana V £4.95
A Tuscan style salad, popular in the summer. Tomatoes, basil, garlic, olives and cucumber combined with artisan bread soaked in the salad juices.

Polpette di Granchio e Gamberoni   £7.95
Homemade crab cake topped with a breaded king prawn, served with a dressed salad and aioli dip.

Insalata di Bresaola con Arance e Cipolle £5.95>
Bresaola (cured beef) marinated with fresh, fiery horseradish, served with an orange and red onion salad.

PASTA E RISOTTO

Garganelli Salsiccia e Broccoli £6.25 starter  £12.95 main   
Artisan pasta tubes with Italian sausage and broccoli, tossed in a creamy sauce. Finished with rocket leaves and parmesan.

Sedanini alla Catanese £5.95starter  £11.95 main   Pasta tubes with sardines, garlic and capers, coated in a light tomato sauce. Finished with parsley and toasted bread crumbs.
Traditionally Italians do not serve cheese on fish pasta- but if you like it please ask

Tortelloni Ripieni con Caprino e Peperoni V   £6.25 starter  £12.95 main 
Artisan pasta filled with goat’s cheese and roasted red peppers. Served on a spicy aubergine and tomato sauce.

Spaghetti con Guanciale Verdure Arrosto e Gorgonzola £5.95 starter  £11.95 main  
Spaghetti tossed with guanciale (cured pork cheek), roast Mediterranean vegetables and gorgonzola cheese. Finished with parmesan cheese.

Risotto al Nero di Seppia  £6.50starter  £13.50main   
Arborio rice with black cuttlefish ink, garlic, fennel seeds and chilli. Tossed with king prawns, fresh salmon and baby spinach
Traditionally Italians do not serve cheese on fish pasta- but if you like it please ask
V We can also prepare a vegetarian risotto if you would prefer

MAINS

Vitello Ripieno di Bresaola e Pesto   £15.95
Escalope of English veal rolled with bresaola and basil pesto in a cream and onion sauce. Accompanied with potato wedges, carrots and peas.

Merluzzo al Forno con Couscous  £14.50
Roast cod loin on a bed of vegetable couscous, drizzled with red pepper coulis and served with green beans.

Salmone e Gamberoni in Salsa Aurora  £15.95
Fillet of fresh salmon and king prawns, cooked in a cream, tomato and tarragon sauce. Accompanied by garlic new potatoes, green beans and peas.

Pollo con Scamorza Funghi e Pomodoro  £12.50
Free range chicken breast with scamorza cheese and basil. Served in an oyster mushroom and tomato sauce. Accompanied with potato wedges, carrots and peas.

Melanzane alla Parmigiana  V £5.50 starter  £10.50 main
Layers of grilled aubergine “parmigiana style” with mozzarella, basil and rich tomato sauce. Topped with herb and parmesan crumbs.
Usually the aubergines are deep fried: however, we grill ours for the healthier option.

Branzino al Forno con Pinzimonio  £15.95
Whole roast seabass drizzled with pinzimonio dressing, served with garlic new potatoes and a pea, cucumber and courgette salad.

Filetto con Salsa Piccante alla N’duja  £22.95
Grilled prime fillet steak in a red wine, onion and fiery N’duja (spicy Calabrian pork salami) sauce. Served with potato wedges, carrots and green beans.
If you prefer you can have the fillet plain grilled, just ask
