MENU DI PRIMAVERA

(February – June 2017)

At Buonissimo 

We aim to produce a new menu for each season providing fresh, modern Italian cuisine with a strong Mediterranean flair using organic and free-range produce wherever possible. Children are most welcome. We offer dishes marked with a smiling face at half price for a child’s portion  . Vegetarian dishes are marked with a V. Some dishes may contain nuts.

Allergies

Some of our dishes may contain nuts.We have gluten-free pasta available on request. Many of our menu dishes can be amended for people with allergies. Please inform your waiter if you have any allergies or intolerances and we will try our very best to create a dish to your specific requirements. We also have a list of allergens contained in our menu dishes which is available on request. We take allergies very seriously, and if informed we will do all we can to ensure you have a wonderful and safe dining experience.

Pane Rustico con Aglio al Forno  V   £3.95
Crusty rustic bread, served with a whole bulb of
slowly baked fresh garlic.  A must for garlic lovers!

Bruschetta Con Salsiccia e Mozzarella  £3.95
Toasted artisan bread topped with roast fennel,
Italian sausagemeat and mozzarella.

Focaccia con Radicchio e Caprino V   £3.95
Italian focaccia topped with tomato,
goats cheese and radicchi

Misto di Bruschette alla Buonissimo  £7.95
A selection of the above breads, for two to share.
V  A vegetarian option is available on request, please ask.

STARTERS

Antipasto Rustico  £6.95 starter  £12.50for two to share
A selection of cured Italian meats, grilled vegetables
and hand torn buffalo mozzarella.

Zuppa Fatta in Casa   V     £4.50
Freshly made soup of the day, served with warm rustic bread.

Salmone Affumicato e Asparagi£6.50
Smoked salmon and asparagus served with zesty crème fraîche, tarragon and capers. Accompanied with grilled artisan bread.

Cozze alla Giardiniera £5.95 starter  £10.95main
Fresh mussels sautéed with chilli, garlic and
Italian pickled vegetables.

Polpette Senza Carne V   £5.95
Homemade parmesan, mozzarella, tomato and basil ball
shaped fritters. Served on a bed of arrabbiata sauce.

PASTA E RISOTTO

Spaghetti al Nero di Seppia £6.25 starter  £11.95 main   
Spaghetti with black cuttlefish ink, garlic, fennel seed and chilli. Tossed with king prawns, calamari and baby spinach.
We can omit the cuttlefish ink, if you prefer.
Traditionally Italians do not serve cheese on fish pasta – but if you like it please ask!

Cavatelli con Ragú di Coda di Manzo £6.25 starter  £11.95 main   Artisan pasta served with rustic slow cooked oxtail and
tomato ragú sauce. Served with pecorino shavings.

Gemelli con Aglio al Forno e Funghi V  £5.25 starter  £9.95 main 
Pasta twists with roast garlic, chilli and mushrooms.
Tossed in a cream and pecorino sauce.

Panciotti Ripieni al Branzino con Friarielli £6.50 starter  £13.00 main  
Artisan pasta filled with sea bass and ricotta, sautéed
with friarielli (Neapolitan speciality similar to spinach).
Tossed with chilli, garlic and olive oil.
Traditionally Italians do not serve cheese on fish pasta – but if you like it please ask

Risotto Primavera V  £5.25 starter  £9.95 main   
Risotto with dolcelatte and mixed spring vegetables, finished with rocket and pecorino cheese.

MAINS

Pollo Ripieno con Friarielli e Provolone      £12.50
Free range chicken breast stuffed with provolone cheese and friarielli (Neapolitan speciality, similar to spinach), served in a cream and peppercorn sauce. Accompanied with potato wedges, carrots and broccoli.

Duo di Agnello e Maiale   £16.50
A duo of slow roast pork belly and grilled lamb cutlets served in a red wine and roast vegetable sauce. Accompanied with spinach and new potatoes coated in herb and bread crumb.

Crespelle al Forno con Spinaci e Ricotta V  £10.95
Oven baked crepes filled with spinach and ricotta in a luxurious cream and pecorino sauce. Finished with toasted pine kernels.

Spadellata di Pesce alla Pugliese   £16.50
A typical fish stew from Puglia to include mixed diced fish, king prawns, calamari and mussels in a rustic white wine and tomato sauce. Served with a timbale of rice and ciabatta.

Stufato di Salsicce con Fagioli £14.95
Traditional Italian sausages in a tomato, white bean and vegetable stew. Served with grilled artisan bread, a timbale of rice and broccoli.

Orata al Limone e Vino Bianco      £14.95
Fillets of seabream in a garlic, lemon and white wine sauce, with a hint of chilli. Served with new potatoes coated in herbs and breadcrumbs, broccoli and a crisp dressed salad.

Filetto all Birra Moretti      £22.95
Grilled prime fillet steak in cream, onion, bay leaf and Moretti beer sauce. Served with potato wedges, spinach and carrots.
If you prefer you can have the fillet plain grilled, just ask.
